Barbara (McDonald) Kujath

July 16, 1946 - July 18, 2017

Barbara F. Kujath, 71, of Wymore passed away peacefully at her home July 18, 2017. She was born in Toronto, Kan., July 16, 1946, to Cecil and Lela (Damron) McDonald. She was a 1964 graduate of Neodesha High School.

On Sept. 16, 1966, Barbara married Stanley Kujath. She was a homemaker and a cook at Southern High School and Wymore Good Samaritan Society. She retired from Good Samaritan, but later returned to work part-time in activities. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cooking amazing homemade meals, watching nature, spending quiet time outside, reading, and playing bingo.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley; children: Mark Kujath and fiancé Darcey of Wymore; Melissa Kujath of Fairbury; Melinda Bowman and husband Scott of Blue Springs; and Michael Kujath and fiancé Ali of Wymore; grandchildren: Dustin Michaelis and special friend Amber; Leslie Michaelis and special friend Derek; Chelsea Michaelis and special friend Tyler; Trevor Kujath and special friend Ria; Travis Kujath and fiancé Jasmine; Marlissa Bernhard; and Matthew Bernhard and wife Kayla; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Jimmy McDonald and wife Lachel and Louis Allen McDonald and wife Jan all of Larned, Kan., and Roger McDonald of Neodesha; sister-in-law Jeannie McDonald of Larned; brother-in-law Mickey Gevara of Larned; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil McDonald and Lela and Lester Seitze; brother Johnny McDonald; sister Virginia Gevara; sister-in-law Joyce McDonald; parents-in-law Edward and Doris Kujath; brothers-in-law David Kujath, Dale Kujath, Jim Kujath, Victor Ackman, and Michael Coates; and nephew Brian Chab.

Memorial services were July 24, 2017, at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. A private burial of ashes was to take place at the Wymore Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the funeral home in charge.
