Boyd "Russell" Banning

Boyd "Russell" Banning, 73-year-old resident of Afton, Okla., passed away in his sleep May 13, 2018.

Russell was born Jan. 10, 1945, in Independence, Kan. He was the son of Boyd and Ada (Kimzey) Banning. Russell worked in the trucking industry for more than 40 years, traveling all over the United States. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, old Western movies, and having a few beers with his buddies at the lake.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kitty, who just passed in January. He is survived by his two sons, Danny Banning and fiance Kim Bowin of Cleora, Okla., and Dennis Banning and his wife Sharon of Parsons, Kan.; his daughter Peggy Beisly and her husband Bryce of Neodesha; and his brother Roger Banning of Oswego, Kan.; grandchildren Trenton Banning, Brice Long and Kandra Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Friday, May 18, 2018, at Neodesha City Cemetery with Jake Allen officiating. Memorial contributions can be sent to the family or to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Okla., in the name of Ketchum Public Schools for sponsorship of local children.
